Details of the event:

Bolstered by the adoption of digital technologies, the remittance industry is gradually shifting towards increased transparency. Meanwhile, consumers are keen on faster and cheaper money transfers. Among concerns about security, reliability and anti-money laundering compliance, what role is transparency to play in the industry in the years to come? How can this benefit consumers, in particular migrants, and what can governments, international and development organizations do to support this change? The event will also showcase results of an innovative Swiss pilot project that opens new remittance corridors from Switzerland towards Serbia and Bosnia, in cooperation with the start-up TawiPay. The project aims at guiding migrants towards better services, attracting innovative money transfer operators and ultimately increasing competition to the benefit of migrants.

Panel discussion and Q&A, followed by a Networking Reception with selected experts from the remittance industry.
